:whistling: When I do a search using Google via IE 7 and click on a result link it takes me to a different site not indicated by google. ie www.toysrus.com goes to some other site other than toyrus. I have already taken the initial steps you suggest to try and fix the problem but without success. I believe I have been "hijacked". The following is the hijacker log:

Once the desktop loads please post the text that will open (report.txt)

  • Lauch AVG Anti-Spyware by double-clicking the icon on your desktop.
  • Select the "Scanner" icon at the top and then the "Scan" tab then click on "Complete System Scan".
  • AVG Anti-Spyware will now begin the scanning process, be patient this may take a little time.
Once the scan is complete do the following:
  • If you have any infections you will prompted, then select "Apply all actions"
  • Next select the "Reports" icon at the top.
  • Select the "Save report as" button in the lower left hand of the screen and save it to a text file on your system (make sure to remember where you saved that file, this is important).
  • Close AVG Anti-Spyware and reboot your system back into Normal Mode and post the results of the AVG Anti-Spyware report scan.
Remember to post the report.txt log the AVG scan and a fresh Hijack This log in your next reply. :whistling:

Hi whiteknight69,
Your log looks clean to me. Are you still getting the browser redirect problem? Let's run an online scan to make sure there is nohing else on your computer that we need to remove.

Please go HERE to run Panda's ActiveScan
  • Once you are on the Panda site click the Scan your PC button
  • A new window will open...click the Check Now button
  • Enter your Country
  • Enter your State/Province
  • Enter your e-mail address and click send
  • Select either Home User or Company
  • Click the big Scan Now button
  • If it wants to install an ActiveX component allow it
  • It will start downloading the files it requires for the scan (Note: It may take a couple of minutes)
  • When download is complete, click on My Computer to start the scan
  • When the scan completes, if anything malicious is detected, click the See Report button, then Save Report and save it to a convenient location. Post the contents of the ActiveScan report and a fresh Hijack This log in your next reply.

Also your Java is out of date. I would reccommend that you update to the lastest release. Follow these instructions here:

Updating Java and Clearing Cache
  • Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on the Java Icon (coffee cup) in the Control Panel.
  • It will say "Java Plug-in" under the icon.
Please find the update button or tab in the Java Control Panel. Update your Java then reboot.
  • If you are unable to update you can manually update by going here:
  • After the reboot, go back into the Control Panel and double-click the Java Icon.
  • Under Temporary Internet Files, click the Delete Files button.
  • There are three options in the window to clear the cache - Leave ALL 3 CheckedDownloaded Applets
    Downloaded Applications
    Other Files
  • Click OK on Delete Temporary Files Window
Note: This deletes ALL the Downloaded Applications and Applets from the CACHE.
  • Click OK to leave the Java Control Panel.

I am glad to hear the browser redireciton has been fixed. You can remove FixWareout. You can remove AVG and ATF cleaner if you do not wish to keep them.
No. The Panda scan will not interfere with your Norton products.
