Hi Hotvoltage and welcome to geekstogo,

thanks for your info, but the website works fully http://www.cutzbothwayz.co.uk, i'm just trying to tart it up with a few bits. i'll save all the links as favourites and use them on my next project!

I have got everything working now except it position when the mouse is on the products section on menu.

Also Micheal, can you tell me why i can not validate it now, it keeps saying the head tag is closed but not open also there is something about the body tag, if you could please explain what this means i'd be very appreciative!

Also, if you have any ideas why the new menu is appearing in the wrong place!

Thanks for everyones help!

doesa the menu appear inline with the menu you roll over?

in my GF's internet explorer 6, the pop up menus are appearing down the bottom of the menu.

If you know JavaScript the file can be found at http://demo.cutzboth....uk/css/menu.js

and the css is found at
http://demo.cutzboth....uk/css/css.css

Hi Michael,

I see what you mean now it does look a lot better on IE7 then it does on firefox. I thought it was supposed to be like that. I need to learn more javascript and I also need to learn CSS. I normally get by with just some alignments. I normally use the <div align=center></div> tags to do alignments.

I hope this helps at least until one of the staff members shows up. You can use this website to play around with the code. I normally just copy and paste a code there and adjust it accordingly. Its not working with the code you gave me.

First a few things to hotvoltage

Hi Michael,

Don't you mean glen_m_32, Michael (me) is after not after help :whistling:

I was looking at the html coding and I see you are missing tables in your html.

I should hope there is not a table in sight. I got a very nice link for you Why Table Lay out is STUPID

Here is a sample of a free webpage file I built on Bravenet.com using NVU. Keep in mind that it was done in a hurry. As you can see I added some tables to keep it clean and centered.

http://ggmgircchat.b...t.com/help.html

If you what to start another thread I will help you tidy that page up, it is quite a mess. Also do you have owner ship to that image, the penguin one? I would suspect not, I have seen it before else were.

I also wanna add this really cool generator for building a drop down menu. You can build it then just "cut+copy+paste" the code to your html.

http://javascript.in...-down-menu.html

Also I don't think is it that cool. If some one has JavaScript disabled they can't use your site.

Now for glen_m_32.

You page http://demo.cutzbothwayz.co.uk is valid and looks good now, except for that menu. If put together a files, based to that menu I liked to a few post back. Try it out, it works a lot better than what your using, which I think is a bit of a buggy script. They are in the attachment.

To Michael sorry about hijacking this thread. I was only trying to help. That website was only a rough draft which I put together in less then 15 minutes.

The page does say

This Page is under contruction. In the meantime you can visit these very helpful links here to learn more about IRC and its commands.

I also did say

I also feel that anybody who has javascript disabled doesn't deserve to be on the internet lol. There are people with Java disabled, blocking pop ups and a whole host of things.

I am not going to bend over backwards for them sorry.

It has messed up all my tables, but i will be removing these soon, once my competition is over, I'm in the UK national Engineering finals for people under 25! going up against the best engineers in the country!

How do you make a tableless format? i've been brought up using tables!

Thanks once again
