is the 2wire device (the one you have) your actual DSL modem or are you using it just as a router?...i.e. do you plug the 2wire directly into y our phone line as well as your computer? if this is the case (that this is your only DSL modem) then no...you cannot REPLACE it with the linksys router...you could if you bought a new dsl modem...but you couldn't just swap them out as the linksys is just a router...not a modem
