sdram memory won't add

i am using pc133 sdram dimms stock 128mb x 2 works great when i go to 256x2 only 256mb shows up i tried 256mb + 128mb & that works ok system info gives max memory @ 512mb need any info about this :whistling:

what brand of memory is that 256? I've seen the cheaper brands not even work. Take it back and get Kingston or Crucial.....

what brand/make/modle pc is this? do you know the make of the motherboard? are you using on-board video?

with both 256 in, does the bios screen (on bootup) show 256 or 512?

download Everest and run it. How much memory does it show?
