I have never had this problem before in over a decade on the web. Then TWC came out to install a home network, the technician admitted he didn't know what he was doing, and I have been bombarded with trojans and IE starting on its own while I am in another program. We had the network removed, but the problems have persisted. I can't do anything on my computer right now because I am always interrupted by these popups that freeze whatever I am doing. So....
I copied off your instructions of what to do before posting my HJT log. I followed your instructions to the letter for each step, therefore, I am attaching my HJT log. Can you please help? I am disabled and this computer is my only link to the outside! Thank you so much!

Angelljoy,

Welcome to GTG Forums.

Please Download LSPFix from http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm and Run the Program. Disconnect from the Internet and close all Internet Explorer Windows. Check the "I know what I'm doing" Button and remove all traces of aklsp.dll and dolsp.dll. Reboot.

After reboot, also remove the following using HJT:

I would uninstall Kontiki. See here.

If you do, remove

Pat yourself on the back, consider purchasing or downloading some Spyware prevention software such as Ad-aware Personal Edition, or Spybot: S&D.

Let me know how it goes, and paste a new log here when you're done.

Dustin...I am SO O O O O glad you are out there! Did everything you said (by the way i have Adaware and Spybot S&D), however, immediately after I removed those files from HJT, I got hit with RedNova, loadingwebsite, and some ad.hbmedia something! I don't know if these two things have anything to do with the problem, but thought you should know...

1) after reboot, I get warning "C:\windows|system32|asmparse.dll",DllGetVersion"
2) I am currently running: McAfee Antivirus, Firewall, & Antihacker programs. I also have Spybot: S&D, Ad-Aware SE, CWShredder, ErrorNuker, TDS-3, LSPFix, and of course, HJT. What needs to go and what needs to stay?

Anyway, here is the HJT log after following your instructions:

I would suggest narrowing yourself down to one or two good adware / spyware programs. I would remove AdSubtract, ErrorNuker, and stick with Spybot and Adaware.

Your log appears mostly clean, but there a few items I can find no information on, mainly:

O16 - DPF: {AB86CE53-AC9F-449F-9399-D8ABCA09EC09} (Get_ActiveX Control) - https://h17000.www1....loadManager.ocx

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [KavSvc] C:\WINDOWS\system32\rnrlnp.exe

Any ideas what these might be?

Also make sure you've downloaded the latest updates for both of those programs. (Spybot and Adaware.)

Please wait for a staff member to come along to help you.

user_name is not supposed to be posting to live logs because he is still in training and Lightninghawk has not even started training yet.

Again, please ignore all suggestions from either of these two and someone will be along to help you out soon.

No problem...I will wait, but I do want to thank Lightninghawk and Dustin for trying to help (even if it was a "no-no"). I admire you guys for taking the time to learn and help those of us who have little or no idea about these things. I am just so glad to have found this website! :tazz:

Thank you again and I look forward to hearing from you!

Thank you for understanding. Can I get you to post a fresh HiJackThis log?

I have asked Staff Helper pomp86 to finish assisting you with this problem. He will be along shortly after you post your new log.

Below is the HJT log I just ran a few minutes ago. No rush on the assistance as I will be with my mother this afternoon celebrating her 77th birthday. The happy (and sad) part is that she can run circles around me! Thanks again!

Hello!

You have the latest version of VX2. Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:

http://www.atribune....oads/l2mfix.exe
http://www.downloads....org/l2mfix.exe

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.

From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing enter, then press any key to reboot your computer. After a reboot, your desktop and icons will appear, then disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new hijackthis log, and we'll clean up what's left. :tazz:

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder unless you are asked to do so!

1. Go to Start->Run and type "Services.msc" (without quotes) then hit Ok
Scroll down and find the service called:

.NET Framework Service

When you find it, double-click on it. In the next window that opens, click the Stop button, then click on properties and under the General Tab, change the Startup Type to Disabled. Now hit Apply and then Ok and close any open windows

Boot your computer into safe mode.

Have hijackthis fix the following if there:

O1 - Hosts: ds.com
O1 - Hosts: 69.20.16.183 auto.search.msn.com
O1 - Hosts: 69.20.16.183 search.netscape.com
O1 - Hosts: 69.20.16.183 ieautosearch
O23 - Service: .NET Framework Service (.NET Connection Service) - Unknown owner - C:\WINDOWS\svchost.exe (file missing)

Restart your computer back into normal mode when you are done with that, and post a new log.
