I overclocked my CPU to 2.7Ghz and it runs perfectly untill after about 20 mins on a game it will just freeze. What could be causing this? if its overclocking why cant it run at 2.7Ghz when most people have got theres to 2.8Ghz?

Any help would be great thanks,

Kurt

There is no absolute guarantee (in fact no guarantee of any kind) as far as over clocking results go. Just because someone else was able to get to 2.8 vs 2.7 is not indicative that you can. Try backing off a little and see if the freezing stops. If you have it over clocked to to point where it is not stable and locks up, what good is it?

more than likely whats holding you back is your RAM

its probably being pushed a little to far and cant handle the extra Hz's

thats my opinion

Ive heard about people lowering the multiplyers of the FSB/LDT bus and the CPU would this make any difference to the overclock? My RAM is holding my CPU back but i dont see why i get random freezes its perfect in windows till i start playing a game then 10 mins later it suddenly freezes what could it be? I cant see why my CPU will run windows and then suddenly freeze after 10 mins on a game

And just to cheack your absoulutly sure that this isnt a overheating issue???

wha temp does your CPU run at under full load???

have you tried upping the voltage of the core and ram?? and from what value have you upped it to???

its deffinetly not a power issue

but whats the difference in overclocking by 100Mhz??? not that much if it runs stable at 2.7 then just leave it there is no performance gain in 100Mhz
