I just received a new computer today, and after reinstalling the Pinnacle software I got my PCTV to work. After a while i opened it and my computer just went to black screen and restarted. It cam eup with an error which i later found in the event viewer as Error code 1000008e it also said

parameter1 c0000005, parameter2 f636bb62, parameter3 ba253990l, parameter4 00000000

I am a bit concerned as this is a brand new computer, any ideas why this happened?

Thanks

James

Sounds like a corrupted driver to me.

In safe mode:

Right click MY COMPUTER, choose PROPERTIES, choose ADVANCED, choose the SETTINGS button in the Startup And RECOVERY section, and uncheck AUTOMATICALLY RESTART

Now reboot. This will result in the BSOD error...report the STOP ERROR and any parameters.

c:\ windows\ system32\ drivers\ 3xhybrid.sys

yeah thats the problem

Try removing the driver and removing the hardware, reboot and see if you still get the stop message , if not, than we gotta figure out how to install the tv card without getting stop messages.
