i am on windows xp svpk2

when i click on my computer and then drive c ..... i have all the usual stuff like documents and settings and windows files etc etc etc

but now there is a list of folders with long confusing names... there seems to be a new one for every day. if i open the folder it contains a notepad file with lots of log information in it.... at the top of the info it says verbose log....

why has this started happening... what can cause it to happen and how do i stop it....??
what danger is ther in stopping it...

i dont seem to be able to change it using regedit (as described on microsoft websites) because i did not knowingly enable it.

can anyone please help...

if you need more info or screen shots let me know....

thank you.
