I know enough about computers to get by and clean with programs but manual stuff i dont.
I have a problem with svchost.exe messing with my computer. Its is under my understanding that the multiple svchosts are necessary for the computer to work right but one of them is slowing my computer. After a while after restarting my computer svchost goes up to 99% cpu usage. I tried just closing that svchost but then i have no sound and if i want to play a game or do something that may take some cpu I need to restart again if i don't want to suffer the slowness and lags. When i do try open an application or stream media it cripples my computer until i exit it.
I tried a couple of things from microsoft's website a while ago but i had no luck and pretty much quit. I have ran every scanner there is, wondering if it had something to do with malware but had no luck. I am really sick and tired of this and i would really like someone to help me fix this pesky problem. Thanks.

I have heard that posting a HiJackThis log helps. Should I?

Svchost.exe has been bugging me for a long time and i have finally cracked down and found out what it was that was making it leak memory.

After about 20 minutes of turning on the computer svchost decides to use all of my CPU and i am forced to restart.

I downloaded "Process Explorer" and looked at the svchost's properties. I found out that there are many items stacked under it and only one was causing my anguish.

IT IS: ole32.dll!StringFromGUID2+0x627

I just want to know what this does and how to fix/or if it is safe to remove.
