Could someone please help me? I have a Acer Aspire 5050 with a Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-K17RS , it was working just fine until one day it just stopped recognizing blank DVDs. once the Blank DVD gets running the e drive (dvd drive) shows that there is 0 bytes available 0 bytes free and will not let me burn or copy and they are brand new
. It still plays DVDs and CDs that have something on them. I thought it might be a firmware thing but can't find anything on the net that has info on this particular model DVR. The computer in barely 3 months old. Can anyone help me please.

I am also having a similar problem. I have an Acer Aspire 5610z with a pioneer dvr-k17rs in it. It is also less than 3 months old. It will recognize blank and written dvds but will not read blank or written cds, it says please insert disc. This is a firmware problem I think but I cannot find a firmware update anywhere. Does anyone have any suggestions please?
