Upon starting up my computer I am receiving a Symatec email proxy message which says tcpip is not installed. I have tried the various suggestions to fix this issue including editing the registry to ensure that tcpip and current version was there. In addition, I have run a winsock fix program but all to no avail. I am really stuck. Any suggestions?

Thanks
Carolyn

Have you gone to Start -> Control Panel -> Network Connections

right click on connection -> Properties

and made sure TCP/IP was installed on the connection?

Personally, i would not have any Symantec software on my computer. They have created their own virus to take care of all other viruses.

ANYWAY
Have you thought about uninstalling the symantec software and seeing if it is the problem? There are lots of good software firewalls that are free. A good hardware router is even better than any software firewall. That and a port closing software is better security than any otherl system.
