:whistling: Please can sombody help me?
I am trying to setup a webcam on my niece's computer.
Whilst I am trying to install the drivers I get a message saying "building driver database" then it prompts me to insert the windows 98se disk which I believe she has lost. How can I get round this problem? what do I need to do?

Most likely you will need to borrow or buy a 98SE CD

Hey souzan,

When you get to that point where it tells you to inser the disc, you could direct it to the C:\Windows\System\Options\Cabs directory. Normally, you will find the .cab files that are on the disc and it can pull it from there as well. Sometimes the .cab files get installed like a "backup" so to speak..just for reasons like this.

Hope this helps too. :whistling:

Jrenter2 is correct, but sometimes the cabinet files are in a folder called win98, and on some OEM installs they may be there but buried quite well so that you may not readily find them. You can use the search function to find them in that case.
