I am running a Linux virtual dedicated server, with full root access. I need to install a program called IonCube but I'm not being successful. I have tried to follow the instructions for adding this information to the php.ini file, but it doesn't seem to be accepting my additions of the file. I am not totally familiar with editing on the server.

I have several new applications that require this information to be installed. If anyone is familiar with either this program or can assist me in getting it installed on my server, I would appreciate it.
