Hello,

Please help me. My operating system is Windows XP. I downloaded a software called ??????_fastest_BitTorrent_downloader.exe, couldn't remeber the whole name, and installed it under Owner. I just ran it once, and noticed it's not what I need, and I uninstall it.

But, after that, for about two weeks now, I noticed that every few minutes, there is an advertisement web page pop up. It really bothers me.

Please help me to remove it.

Thanks a lot,
Patricia

Please follow the procedures outlined here: Malware Removal Guide

You will need a PC which can connect to the internet

Run all the programmes as advised then post a current Hijack This Log in a new topic in the Malware Forum

For the purpose of accurate malware analysis, Hijack This Logs are only dealt with in the Malware Forum. Posting them anywhere else will result in a delayed response

If you are unable to run any of the programmes, please ask for advice in the Malware Forum

Hello, Admin,

I'm kind of confused by the document. The following is a part of copy with my questions,

--should I start from here and follow each document, or start from "Preparation" behind?
Self-help removal guides for many common infections can be found here: (including these):
How to Remove SpywareQuake
How-to Remove SpyFalcon
How-to remove Winfixer, Virtumonde, Msevents, Trojan.vundo (ATLDistrib object)
How-to remove SpyAxe, SpywareStrike, SpySheriff, Winhound, Smitfraud

--should I start from here, or finish the above document first?
Preparation: These initial steps will remove temporary files and make the malware scans that follow run faster.

ATF Cleaner (for Windows 2000 and XP ONLY) - Download - Homepage
Double-click ATF-Cleaner.exe to run the program.
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
If you use Firefox browser
Click Firefox at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
If you use Opera browser
Click Opera at the top and choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
NOTE: If you would like to keep your saved passwords, please click No at the prompt.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program.

Sorry for the silly question,
Patricia
