Cannot Get xbox media centre

hi i want to have media centre running and i cannot do it, i have downloaded the software of microsoft and when i go through the setup i have typed in the setup key and when it try's to connect it fails and i have checked the connections from my firewall and they are all enable.. what can this be i have a router and the xbox which the ethernet cable connects to the router..please help me thanks
