Every time I turn on my computer, the icons next to the clock at the bottom right-hand corner are not there. Although the programs are running in the background, the icons are not there. For example, right now O am running Yahoo Central but the purple icon next to the clock is missing. Also, I use Avira AntiVir and the program is running but the icon is not there. Where are they and how can I put them back where they are? Also, my taskbar takes a lot of time to load and I want to fix this because it wasn't like this. Besides this, everything is running fine.

Hi lokipi!

Windows XP hides 'inactive' icons in the system tray by default, but you can change this. To do this, right click anywhere on the taskbar and click on PROPERTIES. In the new window that appears, make sure you are on the TASKBAR tab and then uncheck the box corresponding to Hide inactive icons. Then click APPLY and OK and you should now see all your icons down by the clock.

The icons are still not there. I don't know why. In task manager under processes, Yahoo Central and other programs are running, but when I do what you said the icons are not there and they're not even in the "current items"

The quick fix is to uncheck "Hide inactive icons," and then log off (not reboot) and then log on to your account again. Another way is to use the Taskbar repair tool: http://www.kellys-korner-xp.com/taskbarplus!.htm More information in this thread: http://forums.comput.......5&tstart=30
