I just created a log using Hijack This (posted below) and it happened when I was browsing on google (For emulators and roms) today and clicked on some site and then I realized that it was a bad choice since my home page is now permanently www.hotoffers.info/270 or something along those lines. If anyone can help I would greatly appreciate this since I really need this computer to work (malware free that is) since I have a thesis paper due this upcoming monday and it's making my life miserable with the annoyances it's causing. Please reply if you can help. Thanks, Mike

I see you have IP Insight running.

We have this information on it:
Installed with Verizon DSL accounts. IP Insight is a Quality of Service monitor and diagnostic tool that isn't required. This one constantly "phones home" and wastes resource.
If you want to keep it, I'd advise you to not let it run on startup.

Download Hoster
Unzip it to a convenient place and open the program.
Choose "Restore Original Hosts" and press "OK".
Close the program.

***

Download CleanUp!.
Don't run the program, we'll do that later.

***

Download Pocket Killbox.
Unzip the files to a folder like c:\killbox\
Don't run the program, we'll do that later.

***

Close all programs leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following, making sure you get them all and not any others by mistake:

Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

****Restart the computer.
*as soon as BIOS is loaded begin tapping the F8 key until the Advanced Options menu appears.
*Use the arrow keys to select the Safe mode menu item
*press Enter.

We need to make sure all hidden files are showing so please:* Click Start.
* Open My Computer.
* Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
* Select the View Tab.
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
* Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Click Yes to confirm.
* Click OK.

Find and doubleclick the file cleanup312.exe.

Go to option
Select ‘custom’
Put a check to:* Cookies
* Prefetch
* Temp
* All users.
Press 'cleanup!'

Once it's done, decline to log off .

Using Windows Explorer, locate the following files, and delete them:

C:\WINDOWS\Fonts\sabr.exe

C:\WINDOWS\System32\ofuknx.exe

If you were unable to find any of the files then please follow these additional instructions:

Run Killbox (doubleclick Killbox.exe), and click the radio button that says Delete a file on reboot. For each of the files you could not delete, paste them one at a time into the full path of file to delete box and click the red circle with a white cross in it.

The program will ask you if you want to reboot; say No each time until the last one has been pasted in whereupon you should answer Yes.

Let the system reboot.
