Confused and need help

Tried several times to load Lavasoft Personal SE. Receiving message "could not initialize size expected=2855080, size returned=477200". Using Microsoft ME 4.90.300. 447.0M resources, 32 bit. I am getting the Initinalizing Wise Installation Wizard: popup, but doing nothing.
Also have tried to restore the computer to earlier date, without success.
Tried to add AOL virus and spyware, receiving "kernel32.dll: versetconditionmask" error.
What next???

Running a disk-error check may help:

Click Start
Click Run and type scandisk in the run box
Click ok
Within the scandisk window select the drive that you wish to be checked.
Choose the 'Thorough' option.
Finally click start to begin scandisk.
