Upgrade for USB 1.0 to 2.0 on laptop?

Is it possipble to upgrade the USB on my DELL laptop from 1.0 to 2.0? It is a couple of years old and everyhting is fine with thte computer but would like to have the fasters USB for downloads etc.

None that I know of... the ports are going to be built into the motherboard so unless there is a new motherboard with newer ports for your make and model then no. In a desktop you can simply add a usb2.0 card but unless there is a pcmcia card that has usb ports ( that I dont' know of ) then you are sol. That is the problem with laptops they are not really upgradeable at all ( beyond maybe more ram and larger hard drive )

IF your laptop has a PCMCIA port on the side...you can get a PCMCIA to USB2.0 adapter...many people sell them...and are pretty easy to find through google...tigerdirect has a couple as well
