Hi guys,
I bought a Toshiba Laptop last November and I'm getting the express upgrade route to vista. I got win xp media center OEM right now.
Here are a few questions.

Firstly: what will be on the dvd itself? all versions of vista + 32/64 or just the oem stuff.
I'm getting 32bit, so I can't change to 64 bit later right?

More importantly: can I do a clean install or is upgrade from xp to vista the only option? What do you guys recommend? What are the disadvantages of choosing upgrade instead of clean install? Once I upgrade, is there no way back?

Thanks,
Kai

OEM does not contain both 32 and 64-bit versions. Only one of them. You can perform an upgrade for clean install. I have no problems recommending an upgrade (I upgraded this system), but a clean install is always the best option if you have the time and good backups.

You can still do a clean install with Vista OEM.

The only change is that a Vista upgrade version needs to have XP installed on system, and validated before upgrading. With XP, you could boot from the XP CD, and then for example put in Win98 or ME media for verification, and then upgrade.
