I have Windows XP. The problem has been ongoing (months and months). Flash won't work on my computer. If I go to the site to update, it says I already have the current version but it doesn't let flash work for websites, programs, pictures, anything. I have used the uninstall program and then reinstalled - still nothing. I have scoured the internet and tried many different things but none of them work. I have NOT yet tried restoring my computer to its original state but would like to avoid that if at all possible. I don't want to lose all the things on my computer and am afraid if I just abck up my whole computer that whatever is wrong will back up too. I don't have any viruses, or malware, or spyware as far as I can tell.

I will take ANY suggestions.

Thank you to all that might have advice.

there have been a lot of issues between older flash versions and the newer flash software.

in fact I just realized that adobe now has an uninstall utility:
