Hi Drew,

Your HJT log is clean, there is nothing to show why you should have problems with Dogile.

Carry out the following and i'll see if anything hidden is running.

Download Silent Runners
Unzip it to a permanent folder.
Start SilentRunners.vbs
When your antivirus is giving an alert, do not block this. Allow the script.
Copy and paste the content of the txtfile you get afterwards in your next reply.

Regards,

Well...I can go to Dogpile but i cant search for anything. There is an error, it is The Connection Was Refused When Attempting To Conntact clickit.go2net.com

Also, spybot found this MySoft, it cant delete, even on restart. The file is sitefinder.verisign=127.0.0.1. I deleted that file off of the Hosts and saved it but it still didnt delete, spybot still keeps finding it and cant delete it. I dont know what the problem is. please help

Hi Drew,

From research so far it looks like Spybot is recording a false positive with Mysoft, picking up on the Verisign name and it is nothing malicious. The reason Spyware can't delete it comes from the possibility of the host file being read-only or locked by Spybot so what it is trying to do is block the site sitefinder.Verisign.com by pointing the site to the local computer i.e. your computer (127.0.0.1) and since it won't find the page sitefinder.Verisign.com in your computer, it will show an invalid page.

Install microsoft Antispyware from the following link and see if that finds anything

Also, is the Windows Security Center that comes with SP2, is that actually a firewall or is that just the thing that tells you if you have a firewall? I think Norton Anti Virus 2005 has a firewall, correct me if i am wrong. If neither Norton or Windows Security Center is a firewall, please tell me where I can get a firewall.

Hi Drew,

Norton Security Suite 2003 has a firewall, yes SP2 does encompass a firewall but it only protects from inbound.

The two good free one's are

Sygate and ZoneLabs.

We'll try one last scan to see if this picks anything up. If not then dogpile looks to be a browser/internet problem.

Download the free 30 day trial of Kaspersy Security Suite (Remember to disable your current Antivirus---you do not have to uninstall! Just disable it.

Kaspersky
