P5W eSata with XP pro, hotswappability?

I've read online, read in my motherboard's manual, and I can't for the life of me figure out why my Vantec eSata enclosure (with WD 320gb inside) isnt engaging with the alledged eSata hot-swappability.

Did I miss something in the bios, or is there an update or something that I have overlooked?
