Hi, After having HIT my computer it wont start, this message appears
OPERATING SYSTEM NOT FOUND.

Then I decided to run the RECOVERY CDs but after it reads the first of 3 CDs it WARNS me that if I carry on with th recovery all data on the C drive will be deleted, so i press OK
then it ejects the CD and RESTARTS with NO CHANGES If I insert CD2 is the same.

At the end I tried to INSTALL win98 (the actual OS is XP) I follow the instructions until this message.
YOUR COMPUTER DOES NOT HAVE A HARD DRIVE OR YOUR HARD DISK IS NOT FUNCTIONING CORRECTLY OR IT REQUIRES A SPECIAL DEVICE DRIVER.

I haven't got a clue, I am desperately neding the computer and...
YES I am sorry to have PUNCHED it!

Thanks

Have you checked to see if you have knocked the DATA cable loose from the hard drive when you hit the computer? You may havealso damaged the mechanics inside the drive so that the drive will have to be replaced before the computer will run again.

Actually I've opened the Laptop but I could not find the DATA cable, I want to check it before doing anything else,

Is it at the bottom of my Laptop (BenQ Joybook 3000)?

Thanks
