For some reason both the paint and calculator icons have disappeared from the start menu

I don't know where to start looking for them, I tried using the search facility but it came up blank

Thanks

They're both in c:\windows\system32.

Calculator is calc.exe and Paint is mspaint.exe.

i see in your last post you have a check mark on start menu short cuts in CCLEANER that will remove paint and calculater from start menu
from start >>>go to all programs >>>do you see paint and calculater under accessories

if not follow lindagails advice
they can be open there and should go back to start menu on there own
