I want to create a table of topics that includes the auto-generated Heading
number - like a TOC only containing ONLY the topics I want. The table section
needs to update automatically when I insert or delete headings / topics.

The doc is a long list of technical steps from which I need to create
multiple procedure checklists (the tables) that will automatically update to
reflect the changes in the number and order of the technical steps.

So, in the example below a couple things are happening:

1. The numbers 1 and 3 in the checklist are being generated from the Topic heading autonumbering
2. I'm calling out steps 1 and 3 as required for installation, but ignoring step 2.
3. If I were to insert a step between 2 and 3, not only would the heading numbers adjust, but also
the topic refs in the table (step 3 would now be referenced as step 4).

I've tried bookmarks and cross-refs, and they don't stay anchored to the right topic. Topic inserts and deletes cause them to move up and down. Any suggestions? Thanks!!
