:whistling: I have been unable to restore my system to an earlier date. No matter which date I chose, it would say no changes have been made. When I went into add/remove programs, I saw no data, date installed or used--it was just blank. I tried to use my Dell install disk and a message came up that the DSR.msi file is missing and Restore can not be installed without it. I tried to search under find-files--no results. Could anyone please tell me what to do next? thank you very much.

I found this walk-through on how to restore your list of "Add\Remove Programs":

First go into Control Panel, click 'Folder Options'->'View' tab, and enable the option for "Show Hidden Files and Folders", click 'OK'.

Go to C:\WINDOWS\inf Folder and find the following file and open it in Note Pad.
sysoc.inf
EDIT all lines that have either hide or HIDE
by deleting only the word 'hide' or 'HIDE'.
EXAMPLE:
Before editing.
WBEM=ocgen.dll,OcEntry,wbemoc.inf,hide,7
After editing.
WBEM=ocgen.dll,OcEntry,wbemoc.inf,,7

Once done Go up to File and chose 'SAVE' then close the file and reboot the computer.
Now you should have a list in 'Add/Remove Programs'
