Imperial GL VE
It appears power supply AND mobo is toast.
used a different power supply, can't get any life out of mobo.
Stripped it down to just mobo, keyboard, & ram. Virtually NO life.
Keyboard light blinks sometimes, case PW Led stays on and dim all the time, thats about it.
About 3 yr old which I understand is is about the life expectantcy.

If mobo is toast, whats the chance the CPU is still good?

General guess on cost to replace PS, mobo (& maybe CPU)

My thought is to just trash the machine and recycle what parts can be used.

Suggestions??
Thanks.

Is it a eMachines?
If so, the power supply has toasted the main board. Common fault.

In any other computer brand, check the brand-name of the power supply unit. If its a Bestec, it's toast and taken the main board with it.

As to life expectancy, if its looked after well it should last years. Powered by Bestec power supplies three years is about the norm.
