Lets do one more and I am going to get an extra set of eyes as well : (I don't want to leave any stone unturned !)

Download Brute Force Uninstaller© by Merijn to your desktop
Right click the BFU folder on your desktop and choose Extract All
Click Next
In the box to choose where to extract the files to, Click Browse
Click on the + sign next to My Computer, click on Local Disk (C:) or whatever your primary drive is
Click Make New Folder and type in BFU
Click Next, and Uncheck the Show Extracted Files box and then click Finish

Right click on Alcra PLUS Remover© by Metallica and save it to c:\BFU by selecting Save Target as or Save as
(make sure the Save as type is set to All Files)

Launch AVG Anti-Spyware, there should be an icon on your desktop double-click it.
The program will now go to the main screen
You will need to update AVG Anti-Spyware to the latest definition files.
On the main screen select the icon Update then select the Update now link
Next select the Start Update button, the update will start and a progress bar will show the updates being installed.
Close AVG Anti-Spyware

Please disable SUPERAntiSpyware as it may hinder HijackThis from removing items. You can re-enable it after we are done
Right-click on the SUPERAntiSpyware icon in the system tray
Select View Control Center in the preferences/options section on the General and Startup tab
Uncheck : Start SUPERAntispyware when Windows starts
Click Close to exit.

Reboot to Safe mode
Restart your computer and begin tapping the F8 key on your keyboard just before Windows starts to load
If done right a Windows Advanced Options menu will appear.
Select the Safe Mode option and press Enter

Run ATF Cleaner
Double-click ATF Cleaner.exe
Under Main choose: Select All
Click the Empty Selected button.
Click Exit on the Main menu to close the program

Run AVG Anti-Spyware
Click on Scanner at top
Click on Settings
Once in the Settings screen click on Recommended actions and then select Quarantine
Under Reports, Select Automatically generate report after every scan
Un-Select Only if threats were found
Select the Scanner icon at the top and then the Scan tab then click on Complete System Scan
AVG Anti-Spyware will now begin the scanning process, be patient this may take a little time
Once the scan is complete do the following :
If you have any infections you will prompted, then select Apply all actions
Next select the Reports icon at the top.
Select the Save report as button in the lower left hand of the screen and save it to a text file on your system (make sure to remember where you saved that file, this is important).
Close AVG Anti-Spyware

Run Brute Force Uninstaller
Double click BFU.exe
In the scriptline to execute field type or Copy and Paste :

c:\bfu\alcanshorty.bfu

Press Execute and let it do it’s job. (You should see a progress bar if you did this correctly.)
Wait for the complete script execution box to pop up and press OK
Press exit to terminate the BFU program.

Reboot to Normal Mode

Please run Panda's ActiveScan and perform a full system scan.
Once you are on the Panda site click the Scan your PC button (be sure to disable your popup blocker first )
A new window will open...click the big Check Now button
Enter your Country
Enter your State/Province
Enter your e-mail address and click send
Select either Home User or Company
Click the big Scan Now button
If it wants to install an ActiveX component allow it
It will start downloading the files it requires for the scan (Note: It will take a couple minutes)
Click on Local Disks to start the scan
Click on see report Then click Save report

Please post a fresh HijackThis log, the AVG Anti-Spyware log, and the Panda Active Scan log here
(You may need to use several replies as the logs may be cut off)

Thank you !

First, I need you to Remove ComboFix from your PC. Do not use it because a new infection has optimized a flaw in it.
Just delete it !

Open Windows Explorer, locate and Delete the following folders or files in RED : (if present)

C:\Program Files\MSN\kyfevylaj.html
C:\Program Files\Common Files\hocys.html

Close Windows Explorer
Empty your Recycle Bin

Download, install and run Tune Up 2007 Trial It is a 30-day free trial.

Run Tune Up disc clean up

Run Tune Up registry clean up

Disable your anti virus programme then click Optimize and Improve to run Reg Defrag, the screen will lose colour during the process which can take a few minutes and then needs a reboot

Check the anti virus programme is running after the reboot.

Those will have cleared the drive of obsolete software errors

These are suggestions for making the most of the free trial

Click optimize and improve then system optimizer to optimize the computer, select computer with an internet connection from the drop down menu, this also requires a reboot

After the reboot, click optimize then system optimizer to accelerate downloads, select the speed just above your actual connection speed, this requires a reboot.

After the reboot, click optimize then system optimizer to run system advisor

Post a fresh HijackThis log and let me know how your system is running ??

Please download: AVG Anti-Rootkit Beta and save it to your desktop.

Double click the file to install it. Accept the licence and follow the prompts to install and reboot. After rebooting, you should see the icon for AVG Anti-Rootkit Beta on your desktop. Double click it to open the programme. You will see a window with 3 buttons at the bottom of it. Click Search For Rootkits and the programme will start a scan, you will see the progress bar moving from left to right, but it may appear that the programme is frozen and not doing anything, this is normal, please be patient. When the scan is complete, a small window will open alerting you to the result. If anything was found, click Save Result To File and post that in your reply.

If nothing was found, please click the Perform in-depth Search saving anything found to file as before.

OK, I have enlisted some expert help from Crustyoldbloke !

Please follow these instructions carefully.

First, we need to backup your registry:
Please go to Start > Run
Paste in the following line: regedit /e c:\registrybackup.reg
Click OK.
It won't appear to be doing anything, that's normal. Your mouse pointer may turn to an hour glass for a minute. Please continue when it no longer has the hour glass.

Open Notepad, and copy everything inside the code box below (Starting with REGEDIT4) and paste it into a new notepad file. Change the "Save As Type" to "All Files"
Save it as fixit.reg on your Desktop. Make sure there is NO blank line above REGEDIT4

REGEDIT4

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Enum\Root\LEGACY_WINDOWS_OVERLAY_COMPONENTS]

Locate fixit.reg on your Desktop and double-click on it
When it asks if you want to merge with the registry, click YES

After merged successfully prompt reboot.

I need you to go here:
Jotti Malware Scan

Click on the Browse button and navigate to :

C:\WINDOWS\system32\sporder.dll

Click on Submit

Copy and paste the results here.

When results come back we can proceed!
Thank you!

Do you double click to open a folder or right click context menu and choose open ??

When did you notice this problem ??

Had you installed or Uninstalled any Software or Hardware when the problem started ??

I see you had Norton installed, lets get rid of the rest of it :

Download and follow the istructions for the Norton Removal Tool

Go HERE and follow the instructions on running System File Checker

Let me know what SFC finds and the answers, as best you can, to the above questions !

Also try your files again and let me know !
