Hi guys, I kinda figured this is the place to put this topic but im not sure so i apologise if its in the wrong area.

Anyway, recently I have noticed a few problems with my PC. I can no longer access task manager, the command propmt thing (MS DOS thing), I always get a message when i boot up my PC saying "b.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close" and i have options to send or not to send an error report.
I was wondering if you guys could give me any advice on the problem and possibly some hints on how to fix it. Obviously I have run several virus scans and delted anything that needs to be delted but the problem still continues.

• Save HJTsetup.exe to your desktop.
• Doubleclick on the HJTsetup.exe icon on your desktop.
• By default it will install to C:\Program Files\Hijack This.

I do see some problems, please do the following and we will get you cleaned up

Please download ComboFix and save it to your desktop.
Double click combofix.exe and follow the prompts.
When it's done running it will produce a log for you. Please post that log in your next reply.

Important Note - Do not mouseclick combofix's window whilst it's running. That may cause it to stall.

Thanks for your reply.
I tried running Combofix but when i clicked to run it a black box flashed up and simply disapeared instantly. Part of the problem that I have is that i cant always run programs like that one.

Please download the Killbox by Option^Explicit.

Note: In the event you already have Killbox, this is a new version that I need you to download.

• Save it to your desktop.
• Please double-click Killbox.exe to run it.
• Select:
  • Delete on Reboot
  • then Click on the All Files button.
• Please copy the file paths below to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C (or, after highlighting, right-click and choose copy):
  
  C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\svchost.exe
  
  
  
• Return to Killbox, go to the File menu, and choose Paste from Clipboard.
  
• Click the red-and-white Delete File button. Click Yes at the Delete on Reboot prompt. Click OK at any PendingFileRenameOperations prompt (and please let me know if you receive this message!).

If your computer does not restart automatically, please restart it manually.

If you receive a message such as: "Component 'MsComCtl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid." when trying to run Killbox, click here to download and run missingfilesetup.exe. Then try Killbox again.

After the reboot, try to run combofix again and post the log

If it still wont work Please do the following

Download WinPFind3U.exe to your Desktop and double-click on it to extract the files. It will create a folder named WinPFind3u on your desktop.

• Close ALL OTHER PROGRAMS.
• Open the WinPFind3u folder and double-click on WinPFind3U.exe to start the program.
• Now click the Run Scan button on the toolbar.
• The program will be scanning huge amounts of data so depending on your system it could take a long time to complete. Let it run unhindered until it finishes.
• When the scan is complete Notepad will open with the report file loaded in it.
• Click the Format menu and make sure that Wordwrap is not checked. If it is then click on it to uncheck it.

Use the Add Reply button and Copy/Paste the information back here. I will review it when it comes in. If, after posting, the last line is not < End of Report > then the log is too big to fit into a single post and you will need to split it into multiple posts.
