internet explorer 7 beta 3 can't uninstall

i'm trying to uninstall like the microsoft website says but it gets to a point in the uninstall where it is
"updating registry" -its been doing that for a few hours now and their is no time estimate/the next and cancel button on the uninstall wizard aren't highlighted to work. what can i do to get it off?
and when i do how will i download another better version? please help-i'm really furstrated and i don't know much about computers.

have you tried using system restore to 'roll back' to a date before ie7 was installed? start>all programs>accessories>system tools>system restore

Well, Internet Explorer 7 has been out of "Beta" for a long while now. Orphaned, obtain the final version here: Internet Explorer 7

I suggest removing your last install of Internet Explorer from the Add/Remove Programs list, before attempting to install the new Internet Explorer 7.
