Hi,

For the last 4 months, I have been playing COD and United Offensive with all the graphic settings turned up to the max. The graphics and smoothness was equivalent to being in the single player mode. Sometime this week, there were some noticeable changes that just happened, and I cannot figure out what it can be.

1) When I select Join a Game, and selected Refresh List, the list was very slow to display. The cursor movement was extremely delayed - laggy - jerky. If I click on any other options such as Filter, it takes maybe 5-10 seconds before it will make the change.

Before, I could hit Refresh List and the list of available servers would fly down quickly, the cursor movement was normal without lag allowing me to quickly select a game server, but now it is more difficult.

2) Once I get into the game, the graphics are not as smooth as it used to be. It seems like I have low fps and that it is a little choppy. It isn't the same quality that I had before.

I have a Dell system running at 3.4 GHZ,with 1 Gig of RAM, a NVidia GForce 6800 256 Meg card. Like I said, the game used to run smooth and all of a sudden it doesn't.

I checked the direct X to make sure hardware acceleration is on and it is.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled both COD and UO, patching all the way back up to the appropriate 1.5 levels - but that didn't seem to make a difference.

I have ran Hack This to see if there was anything out of the ordinary, but nothing was flagged in the scan. I had also ran another Spyware tool on the system to be sure.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Thanks,
Steven
