Have been encountering problems downloading Trillian messenger program, specifically Trillian-V3.1.exe, pls advise if Windows XP has such a utility as a Dowload Manager, which might be missing or not functioning properly.

IE does not have a download manager. I guess you're running XP with SP2 and trying to download with IE -- right? SP2 beefs up security in XP and IE. because the Trillian download is a potentially harmful 'exe' file (rather than the more usual (and safer) zip format, XP is blocking it. Same here if I try to get trillian from the developer's link at download.com

However, this site does work for me (using IE):
http://www.snapfiles...t/trillian.html
You should get a yellow warning bar at the top. Click it and choose "Download file". If no yellow bar appears, click the link which says "click here" on the page.

Alternatively, use Firefox web-browser. All downloads are available if you use that. http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/
You might even prefer it to IE, I know I do!
