Having run my PC on Windows XP (unpatched) with no real problems for several months, I installed the SP2 patch the other day, and have been having problems with my graphics card. The monitor keeps cutting out and then coming back on, until eventually it goes off alltogether and the system crashes. I've tried re-installing the driver, and also attempted to install a new driver from the Mvidia website, but so far the problem is persisting. I deleted the original driver and tried using the Windows default, but that did not work either, and the system seems to automatically re-install the driver on boot-up anyhow.

The machine is a Novatech 2.0 GHz Pentium 4, the graphics card itself is an Mvidia Geoforce MX 440-SE, while the monitor is an old Gateway CRT. Is it likely to be a hardware thing or a driver? And has anyone else had this problem?

Any help welcome!
