Dell has me stumped
ok trying to get xppro on a dell machine that i formatted the drive on. when i formatted it it had 3 partitions that i erased.
the install was fine but i noticed that it didn't ask for timezone etc durning install and this disk usually does. it boots fine etc but in the welcome screen it only has admin account and wants a password.
full install twice with formatting etc.

how can i get past this or is there a default password for admin account?

please help me out
Thanks

and i have used this install disk many times works great just did my own amd with it matter of fact.

Hey Tindean, as far as I know there is no default admin password. The only default password would be whenever you installed everything for the first time you might have set up a password. The only thing that I would know what to do is totally just re-format for XP. Sorry if I didnt give that much info, just trying to shed a little light on the subject...

Not too sure man, the only other thing I would suggest is to contact Dell and see what they would say but hopefully someone else here has some smarts and direct you in the right way. Hope everything goes good for you...

From Microsoft:

Forgotten Your Windows XP Home password?

Once in Safe mode you should be able to reset password.

can't even get into safemode tried to do that and change with admin tools but when i try it just runs the commands and loads driver etc then back to logon screen and admin password.
this is brutal. could it be a hardware problem you think?

some good links on those pages think i may have a chance if i can get into recovery console.
thanks again.
