I am running the new Vista ..I was running win XP with a wireless card in the old one but now on a new Dual core machine with the Vista I opt for the USB port antenna..problem is I am getting really bad (slow) speeds ..My son installed the usb and at the time Vista would not accept the software that came with the unit (USB)..he went on line and did a go around to have the computer accept the usb. I have SBCGLOBAL for a I P ...I called them they were no help..said all was A OK at their end.

When I go into the hardware files on the machine it shows me that the drivers need to be updated...I am afraid to attempt that being a Newbie if I screw it up I'm dead in the water with a hole in my boat.

any ideas on what I can do ...if I try and do a driver update and it does something to cause me to lose the internet...can I do a system restore to pull everything back ????

As you can see I need help ..son is away at school...thanks hope someone can help.

Hi Al. I suspect you need the expertise of another Vista user for this. They all hang out on the dedicated Vista forum:
