Okay, So I was having AC3 stream problems. I uninstalled/reinstalled the KLITE codec pack.

WMP11/WMP Classic plays AC3 streams fine. It does not play any MPEG sound streams at all, although it plays the video. Doesn't even play MP3s w/o video at all.

ZoomPlayer plays nothing.

VLC Media Player plays MPEG sound streams, does NOT play MP3 without video, does not play AC3 streams.

I tried uninstalling, reinstalling KLITE again. Same problem.

What the [bleep] is this?

EDIT: For what it's worth the error is

Error ID = 0xC00D11CD, Condition ID = 0x00000000

Help and the Mircosoft site (unsurprisingly were NO help).

Also, I rolled back to WMP10, same issue as WMP11
