Using windows XP and average 47-49 Processes. Is there away to clean or minimize what is not really needed?

I also have annoying problem with adobe. I can't click on icon or link that has .pdf, then machine will get tied/locked up. If i have to view .PDF i need to save it to desktop right click mouse open with ADOBE 7.07

Thanks in advance,

Rudy

Re the Adobe Reader problem. Try uninstall/re-install of Adobe Reader.

Re Services: What you can and can't disable varies from PC to PC, what software is installed on it, what network features you are running etc. many of the services are added by software installs. So it's impossible to say "this list of services can be disabled by everyone".

However, it is possible to give guidance regarding the default services that Windows installs (which is by far the bulk of all the services you have):

The following website lists each service. Click the service to see what they recommend. It's not a 5-minute job so set aside some time to do it properly. Above all, first read the important stuff about services in general.
