OEM Express Upgrade - Language change?

Hi,
I'm living in Germany and I'm getting Vista Home Premium through Express Upgrade. I only have german as my option as my laptop that I bought a few months ago came with a german xp mc edition.
Now I actually prefer to get the english version, so what I want to know is: can I install an english version of vista home premium (retail or oem) and use the original and legal serial number that I'm getting from the express upgrade DVD?

Will this work?
