My 2 year old daughter has taken an interest using the computer. So we bought her some learning games. My (her) problem is the mouse is too big for her hand. The question is can I go buy one of those small laptop mouse and plug it in the front USB port and everything work fine?

She actually does suprisingly well using a MX700.

There's no reason why a USB mini (laptop) mouse wouldn't work just fine

Should not be a problem. I have that configuration now, because I'm trying out a new mouse.
Both are working fine.

Or, how about a touchpad mouse for all of you? See this link.
