It has been a very long time since I have upgraded RAM and don't know all of the new names. I keep seeing ddr, sdram, dimm, simm, pc100, pc133, pc3200...etc etc etc.

The disk that came with my motherboard says that I have a ASUS NVIDIA nFORCE2 Series Motherboard Rev 44.07.

Could someone please tell me what type of RAM is compatible so I don't get the wrong kind.

Thanks a bunch!

Well the report sort of answered my question. It says I have 3 DDR DIMM slots.

Motherboard:
CPU Type AMD Athlon XP, 1100 MHz (11 x 100)
Motherboard Name Asus A7N8X-X (5 PCI, 1 AGP, 3 DDR DIMM, Audio, LAN)
Motherboard Chipset nVIDIA nForce2 400
System Memory 512 MB (PC2700 DDR SDRAM)
BIOS Type Award (04/28/03)
Communication Port Communications Port (COM1)
Communication Port Communications Port (COM2)
Communication Port ECP Printer Port (LPT1)

It says that I have 1 512mb PC2700 DDR SDRAM installed right now. What does teh PC2700 mean?
