It probably needs the sound driver (a small piece of software) re-installing. It's free off the internet, but we need to know the make and model of your computer if it's a famous brand like Packard Bell, Compaq, Dell, or Gateway.

If your PC is not a famous brand, you'll need to give us the make and model of the motherboard inside it. To find that out you can download and run Belarc Advisor, then post it's report on the forum.

Belarc Advisor: http://www.belarc.co...e_download.html

Ok. I just found out Sony identifies your exact model from it's serial number and product code on the sticker underneath. The page to enter those details is here: http://support.vaio....r...ns&p=select

Enter the correct numbers and click "Validate". You should then get a new page with all the driver downloads that are the right ones for your PC.

You mean the validation doesn't work? Are you quite sure you are using the correct numbers for each one?

Ok. that website is for customers living in the UK who have a laptop made for the UK market. Do both those conditions apply to you?

Right. That explains your validation problem. The Sony UK website only recognises serial numbers on computers made for the UK market.

You need to go here and select the country your PC was made for:
http://www.sony.net/SonyInfo/Support/

Korea is not listed, so you'll have to try different ones until your model number is recognised.

Double check your model number because model PCG-8Q8P does not exist if you type it into Google and do a search -- nothing.
