Download Speed fan and have it running while you are burning a CD or DVD. Watch the voltages at the bottom of the window. If voltages spike down to 11.5 or below your PS is probably inadequate. From the sound of your problem it seems more of a bad or corrupted driver than power. You might try uninstalling and reinstalling the burning software. I never had it crash but i did have a problem with CD's failing to burn in the last stages of a burn. I finally found out it was the folding at home program that was causing the problem. Shutting off FAH resulted in good burns. Of course when i am burning cd's or DVD's i do nothing else on that computer. Maybe just my quirk but i have never burned a bad CD(dvd) yet in years. It is my priviledge to have enough computers around that i can just use another computer to go surfing or do other stuff on.
