i downloaded mc afee removal tool from major geeks and its gone in add remove programs. when i try to install cox firewall it says mc afee is still detected. i think its in the registry but not shure how to remove it totally please help.

make sure you use the correct mcafee tool for the product you need to remove.
Double-click the downloaded file to run the removal process.
To remove the removal tool itself, double click "unwise .exe" in the removal tool folder if it's not listed in Add/Remove Programs. Then re-boot before trying to install your new security software.
