Recently I had to ship back my computer for an exchange and it Had a Pentium 4 Processor w/Hyperthreading 3.0 GHz

Now that I need to get a new system, I want something that is the same as the Pentium 4 but since they are all Dual Core now I don't know how to compare them to the Pentium 4.

Here are my Options, I know the last 2 are Quad-Core so they are out of the Question, but which one would function the same or better than the 3.0 GHz P4 Procesor.

Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor E6300 (2MB L2 Cache,1.86GHz,1066 FSB)
Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor E6400 (2MB L2 Cache,2.13GHz,1066 FSB)
Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor E6600 (4MB L2 Cache,2.4GHz,1066 FSB)
Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor E6700 (4MB L2 Cache,2.66GHz,1066 FSB)
Intel® Core™2 Extreme QX6700 (8MB L2 Cache,2.66GHz,1066 FSB)
Intel® Core™2 Extreme X6800 (4MB L2 Cache,2.93GHz,1066 FSB)

Thanks in advance :whistling:

(I am looking to see which one is the closest to the P4 3.0 GHz)

Everything you listed will blow a P4 out of the water in terms of performance.

Thanks a lot for the reply. I'm a little a shamed of the fact that I cannot compare the processors, when I read them I look at the Clock speed (3.0GHz and 1.8 GHz) Is there a place you think that would help explain this for me so that I can compare them better in the future? Thanks.
