Well, i posted a week ago and no response and since then things have changed. Have gotten rid of most of hijack this problems from last post (Correctly? who knows.) I have tried following other posts only to get to a spot where i'm not all that comfortable. If this is an easy problem i wish somebody would tell me. At times i have thought it was vx2, some type of problem involving isvrs, ceres.dll, abetterinternet, isearch.desktop,and to be honest at this point i have no clue. i have done all the adaware, spyware, cwwshredder, mcafee vs, both in safe mode and standard mode only to have the problems regenerating upon reboot. The system has also restarted a couple of times during scans. PLEASE HELP, i,m posting my current hijackthis log for any caring soul to look at. ANY REPLY AT ALL WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED, EVEN IF YOU TELL ME I"M STUPID FOR NOT FIGURING OUT A SIMPLE PROBLEM. I JUST NEED TO KNOW WHERE I'M AT.

Hi jhmillard,

Please print out or copy this page to Notepad. Make sure to work through the fixes in the exact order in which they are mentioned below. If there's anything that you don't understand, ask your question(s) before proceeding with the fixes.

Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.

From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing enter, then press any key to reboot your computer. After a reboot, your desktop and icons will appear, then disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, notepad will open with a log.

Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new hijackthis log.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder unless you are asked to do so!

Hi jhmillard,

The infection you have left is one of the worst that we are dealing with today and a permanent solution is still under development. On the good side, 2/3 of the problem has been solved and we expect total resolution within a couple of days.

In the mean time, please go to this site, print out the tutorial by Calamity Jane and go through the anti-virus scan and then install the Microsoft Anti-Spyware Program, update the definitions and run it.

Reboot and post a new log

UH-OH, After performing the fix and rebooting the computer in to reg. mode, the computer responds very little to anything, i can't get the start to come up to shut the computer down. It does seem to work in safe mode, kinda. I don't know what access safe mode provides programs so that may be why some programs don't work. PLEASE HELP! I will be around all night so if you have any suggestions i will be glad to try anything, I don't want to have to reformat. Thanks for your help Trevuren!

Unfortunately i needed to get the computer back up and running so i did a system restore then performed the original two fixes. Everything seems as though it is back to the state before the Kaspersky VS. You had said a fix is in the works and could be possible shortly, is waiting it out a viable option?If not i can post a current hijackthis log after i perform the Kaspersky VS. If it is should this thread stay up, or should i post another thread? Thank you again for all your help, and sorry about having to do the system restore, i realize that is going backwards.
