can't get sidwinder to work

i just recently got a sidewinder steerign wheel, and well, my mobo doesn't have a build on game controler port <_< so, i poped in old sound card, and works fine, well, after i disabled onboard sound card in bios) and well, i get windoes xp error (code 12) for the gameport on sound card, and it is the only device using the I/O code, so, plz help, i wanna us emy steering wheel!

Have you tried disabling the on-board sound in your BIOS?

i did disable it, any more seggestions? or is there a connector for the joystick type corde to change to USB? cause i got 4 USB 2.0 ports, and fire wire and an iLink port, anyways, any more help?

Sheesh, I know someone that has the same wheel. No problems. Have you gone to Microsoft's site and get the latest drivers?

the wheel itself works, it is the game port on the sound card, it has a conflict with an I/O port, i get (code 12), i forget the I/O port #, but any more help?

Try uninstalling the sound card from the device manager, reboot and let the hardware wizard reinstall. This should resolve any hardware conflicts.

i guess i'll try that for the 4th or 5th time, i'll be back again if it don't work
