When trying to update windows XP home I am having problems getting this done. I check to see BIT and cryptographic services are running prior to the update and then commence. The process begins and either gives me the error message that it can't be verified or it gets stuck in the middle. I have over come the verification deal by using the suggested CMD prompt adjustment as seen on this forum, but now the process gets stuck, in other words doesn't stop or continue, just stays at the point where it is "connecting to http://xpSP1.microso...p/SP1.USA.11069. Does anyone have any idea how to keep this process going?
Thanks,
:whistling:

xpsp1.microsoft.com doesn't exist.

Easy solution is to upgrade the computer to Service Pack 2, this will sort the issue of out of date website addresses out.
