I have a Seagate EDI hard drive (400GB) and CD Burner on the same ribbon connector. After boot only the hard drive functions. The CD Burner was working fine before I connected the hard drive on to the same ribbon.

At boot, hard drive description text is displayed with a press any key prompt.

Is the burner on the first connector (Master), or the second connector (Slave)?

I connected the burner first so it's on the first connector.

Fixed. Swapping the connectors did the trick.
