desktop icon gone out of quick tray

Somehow I have lost my desktop icon in the quick tray by the start button. I can not figure out how to get it back. HELP :blink: :whistling:

lol I don;t think that the show desktop shortcut matters. Its only there to amke it better ease for you.

That button your talking about is the show desktop,its used so right when you click it it shows your desktop.

Its kinda poitless,unless you just dont want to minize everything.

I find it extremely useful though. :whistling: I click it alot if something crashes/freezes exc. (my comp sucks)

* Click Start -> Run -> type Notepad and enter
* Copy the contents below to your Notepad and save as Show Desktop.scf

[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop

* Once the file created, drag the file to the Quick Launch bar.

You will see the icon above if you restore the Show Desktop successfully
* Done! You just restore Show Desktop icon.

There are another way to restore show desktop icon in quick launch bar:-

* Click Start -> Run and type regsvr32 /n /i:U shell32.dll and enter
* Done! You just restore your Show Desktop icon

oo srry for all these posts,but I just found something neat,next time remember this command:

To minimize everything to go right to your desktop Hold the Windows/Start key and then press D


Start/Windows Key+D and that will take you to your desktop

Please download the file located HERE to somewhere on your computer where you will remember its location. Then find the file on your computer and double-click it to run it. (Depending on the security software installed on your computer, you may receive a warning when attemping to run this type of file. Click YES to any warnings so that the file will be able to run.). Once it is done, a small window will appear stating Toolbar Menu's have been restored.. Click OK and reboot your computer and the show desktop icon will be back in Quick Launch.

Mr. Jingles - The start key + D does work great.

I tried downloading the file that Fenor suggested and I now have my desktop icon back. Thank you very MUCH!!! :whistling: :blink:
